Jeffery is a strong believer in disruptive innovation, which is not innovating “more”, but innovating differently, boldly, and often against the mainstream. Jeffery is fascinated by the transformative power of next-gen AI that enables new content and experiences for consumers and new ways to get work done for businesses. Jeffery is particularly interested in partnering with entrepreneurs with the ambition of serving the global market and the tenacity required to navigate the increasingly convoluted cross-border trading environment. Jeffery is committed to helping founders experiment more effectively in their ventures' crucial early stages, laying the foundation for growth, scalability, and profitability.
Prior to joining DCM, Jeffery worked in consumer electronics (Microsoft), industrial goods manufacturing (ESG Valve), management consulting (BCG), and B2B SaaS (own startup). At Microsoft, Jeffery worked as a program manager on Surface Book 2, managing issues and projects with its manufacturing and supply chain. During his time at HBS, Jeffery started a software company that provided SaaS to service businesses, enabling them to train their distributed workforce in a bottom-up, video-based, and digital-native manner. The diverse work experience across large corporation, SMB, and startup gives Jeffery a deeper understanding of various business personas, a more versatile set of mental models, and the ability to learn, adapt, and innovate more quickly.
As an engineer deep down, Jeffery likes to take an engineering mindset to life and believes that Total Life Awesomeness (TLA) = Length of Life * Average Daily Awesomeness. On one hand, Jeffery is interested in living longer, which involves running, skiing, horse riding, and a variety of watersports (perks from growing up in Qingdao). On the other hand, he enjoys singing, traveling, gaming, reading, and wine tastings, all of which have made his day-to-day meaningfully more enjoyable.
