Rudy Rehm joined Dixon Doll and David Chao as a financial advisor and business strategist in 1995, after electing early retirement from KPMG LLP where he had served in successively more senior roles for almost three decades. Rudy shortly thereafter signed on as one of the founders of DCM and was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in December 1996. Since then, Rudy has helped guide and oversee the firm’s business strategy and growth. He currently serves as DCM’s Finance Partner.

As a senior tax partner and firm leader with KPMG, Rudy provided tax consulting services and business advice to individuals and companies across various industries. During his public accounting career, he specialized in investment firms, professional service firms, corporate reorganizations and individual tax planning, all of which experience and knowledge has been invaluable to DCM and our portfolio companies.

Rudy began his professional career with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. in Cleveland in 1967. He worked on special assignment to the firm’s Washington, D.C. National Tax Practice and later served as Partner-in-Charge of the tax practices in San Diego, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. He was a member of the firm’s national Tax Practice Committee and chaired both the Tax Professional Development and Tax Personnel Committees. During his tenure with KPMG, Rudy was also a frequent speaker on a wide variety of tax and business topics. He currently serves on the board of the UCSD Foundation, is the Chair of the Foundation’s audit committee and was recently named Chairman of the UCSD Moore’s Cancer Center Board.
